Our organization
The Department of Finance of Aruba is the government agency responsible for advising on financial-economic policy and overseeing public finances on behalf of the Minister of Finance. Additionally, the Department of Finance plays a crucial role in the policy and budget cycle, management of cash flows, provision of information on public finances, and monitoring of compliance with accounting regulations as stipulated in the Comptabiliteitsverordening.
In summary, the Department of Finance provides strategic financial policy management, budget cycle administration, and financial asset management on behalf of the Government of Aruba.
History
With the introduction of the Status Aparte in 1986, the two separate levels of government administration that were responsible for public finances in Aruba - namely the Island Territory of Aruba and the Netherlands Antilles - were merged into one central entity: the Department of Finance.
